The location of the Lagar de los Almendros allows for beautiful views over the valley and the contiguous mountains made up of pasture farms. The rural house has excellent conditions for bird watching and is classified by SEO BirdLife as one of the most biodiverse areas in Europe. It also has magnificent views of the sky due to the low light pollution (more info) and is a privileged area for collecting mushrooms.
Near the farm there are numerous natural spaces to visit such as the Monfragüe National Park (40 km), a biosphere reserve and a sanctuary for a multitude of birds. In addition to black storks, about 300 pairs of black vultures nest, one of the most important colonies in Europe. There is also a high probability of seeing the Iberian imperial eagle fly. Other natural spaces and parks close to the house worth visiting are Llanos de Trujillo, Cornalvo Natural Park and Ruta de los Pantanos, Sierra de Gredos, Sierra de Gata, Sierra de Guadalupe, Riberas del Tajo and del Guadiana.
ACTIVITIES
El Lagar de los Almendros is surrounded by numerous roads and paths where various sports activities can be practiced. These include hiking, cycling, horseback riding, fishing and other adventure sports.
